Before you start

Check the status of your application. This will determine what you need to do to make changes to an application already in progress.

If your application is being assessed and you want to make changes:

Contact the planning officer handling your application.

Please note: that additional fees may apply.

If your application or amendment is still in progress and no decision has been made:

You can apply to amend it under Section 50 or Section 57A of the Planning and Environment Act.

Section 50: Planning and Environment Act 1987

Section 50 allows for an applicant to request amendments to their application before notice of the application is given under Section 52 for public comment.

The responsible authority may refuse to amend the application if it considers that the amendment has substantial changes that a new application for a permit should be made.

Section 50A of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 allows Council to request for an applicant to amendment their application before notice of the application is given under Section 52 for public comment.

Amendments can include changes to the use or development applied for in the application, the description of the land, and any plans or documents accompanying the application.
